The Parish Council offers input to the pastor on behalf of parishioners on matters affecting the parish and to assist him in pastoral planning. Here’s a bit about each of the members of the St. Clement Parish Council:
Povi Blankenship is a group fitness instructor and office assistant at a local insurance agency. Her passion outside of her family is running. She completed her fourth Boston marathon in April! Her husband Dennis is an ER physician and Dean at Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. They have five children and have been attending St. Clement for eight years. Their three oldest received confirmation at St. Clement. They love their St. Clement parish and the welcoming feeling you get as soon as you walk through the doors. It just feels like “home.” The RE teachers and mentors have been an integral part in their children’s walk with God and the Catholic faith. Povi became a Catholic 23 years ago. She had been attending Mass with her husband for several years and loved everything about it. The decision to attend RCIA and fully commit was easy for Povi, and she continues to receive God’s many blessings.
Trevor Guidry has been a St. Clement parishioner for 10 years. He was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and raised in Gonzales, Louisiana. Upon completion of high school in 1989, he joined the Navy and served 20 years until he retired honorably from military service in 2009. For the past almost 10 years, Trevor has been an electrician for American Airlines. Trevor is grateful to be a conduit between fellow parishioners and our pastor to keep moving our parish forward with guidance from the Holy Spirit.
George Hyland grew up in the Beaumont, Texas, area and attended Lamar University. In 1978 he went to work in the insurance field. In 1984 he married Linda. They have two sons, two grandsons, and one granddaughter. In 1987 George and Linda joined St. Clement. George has been a member of the choir since 1998 and the Knights of Columbus since 2014. He is the most recent past Grand Knight. He enjoys "piddling around" on their hobby farm in Mounds assisting Linda. He is currently an aspiring beekeeper, setting up his apiary and getting ready for "his girls" in the spring.
Florentino Martin is originally from the state of Jalisco, Mexico. He and his wife Maria de la Paz have been married for 32 years. God gave them four children, two girls and two boys, and they have four grandchildren. Florentino has lived for 17 years in the city of Bixby and has been a member of St. Clement parish for most of that time. He and his wife have had the privilege of being Extraordinary Ministers of Communion for the past five years. He also serves as a lector.
Ray Reynolds and his wife Brenda joined St. Clement parish in early 2002. They have three children and six grandchildren. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoys hunting and working in the yard and on cars. Two years ago he retired from Magellan Pipeline. Ray and Brenda both help with the parish outreach program.
Lino Roldan and Carmen, his wife of 52 years, are from Puerto Rico. They have two sons and five grandchildren. Lino retired from the Army after serving 23 years including in Vietnam and Desert Storm. He is fluent in Spanish and Italian and plays the congas in our choir. He loves music, fishing, travel, nature, and restoring antique cars. He currently owns a restored 1966 VW Beetle. Lino runs an online radio station from home, Radio La Brisa Tropical, which plays Spanish rock, salsa, tropical music, and Latin jazz. He also conducts live podcasts about music, home maintenance, safety, mechanic tips, and veterans' updates.
